If you have thick hair, the small curling iron would takes a lot of time. Brush the hair before you curl it, if not, you will get the kink. Take strands of hair and brushed them smooth, you need to use equal sized strands for it to look right, then sprayed them with hairspray and curled them. You should to start from the end of the hair with the end of the iron where the clamp starts, and swirl up toward the root. Be sure you have given plenty of time to curl the hair, then release it by pulling the iron downward and gently turning without to twist or distort the curl.
