How to Straighten Permed Hair

Posted by Kmm on Tue, Nov 11th, 2008
Is it safe to use a hair straightener on permed hair?
At first, make sure that your hair hasn’t been overstressed or damaged by the perming process. If your hair doesn't show any signs of damage, then you could be fine to use a hair straightener at this point. If it shows some signs of damage, then you should give your hair some extra time to recover. During the time, give some deep-conditioning treatments for your permed hair.

Please pay more attention to the directions on the package and follow them closely. If you are worried that your hair would be damaged and unsure how the hair straightening would work, give a test on a strand of your hair before the treatment. This will allow you to both assure that the hair will withstand the straightening treatment, and help you to confirm the timing of the processes.
