I've had this straightener for about a month to six weeks, and every time I use it, I do get compliments on how smooth, shiny, and bright my blond hair looks. However, I do have a couple things I would consider next time I buy; there is not adjustment on the temperature, so for tough-to-straighten hair, that might mean using the tool over and over on the same section of hair in order to get the desired effect. Also, I do notice that I sometimes feel hairs catch on the side of the plates, which is something I've experienced with cheaper irons. I'm not sure whether to attribute this to the newness of the iron, or if the plates are not set as flush with the handle as I would like. But overall, I've been really happy with this flat iron, and if it lasts, would recommend it for people with moderately curly or wavy hair. It reduces hair frizz, and gives lots of shine!

Love this iron. It gets hot quickly. My hair is very curly and it's hard to get it smooth, but this iron gets my hair as straight as I want it, and I don't have to keep going over the same strip of hair to get it smooth. The only thing that was missing was temp control, but other than that the Farouk chi is great.

Love my new chi. I had trouble with it not working a couple of days after i received it. But i email the company and they took care of it right away i sent them the broken one and they sent me a new one. The new one works great!!!!!!!!!

My sister got this starightner and had it for about 3 years and noticed that the heat was holding so she gave it to me and when i got it, it was fine, it didnt work as well as my sisters new one but its fine.

The flat iron gets hot quickly and makes quick work of straightening your hair. It's also thin and light so it's easy to use, not awkward. Definitely recommend it.

well i bought this flat iron today and it works wonders the only reason i dont gie it 5 stars is beacuse you cant adjust temp but this is a great flat iron. pick up some silk infusion a bit pricey but deffinatly worth it

I have not purchased a CHI, but I have used my friends straighners. The CHI amazed me, st first. I couldn't beleive how straight my hair was, it was the first time it went that straight, without having to go to a salon. At the time I was using a Conair straightner so of course I was shocked. After a while I realized that altough my hair was straight it didn't stay straight for a long time, and if I ever walked outside into the humidity, my hair would get just as frizzy as it would using my conair. My hair is really curly, so during heat, steam, or humidity it tries very hard to return to normal. Also, I've heard that the CHI isn't that durable and you have to replace it constantly. The heat damages your hair to. I also don't like the fact that you can't change the temperature settings. I like the CHI but it doesn't completely work for me.

I am very happy with this purchase. The price was right and the quality is great. My hair actually seems healthier after using this flat iron. I was a bit skeptical due to the low price, but this flat iron is great quality. I think I am going to purchase another one for my daughter.

i have thick frizzy coarse hair.the chi works really good. But the only thing is that it burns ur hair alot! So i had to use alot of silk infusion.
About a month ago i used the Remington Wet 2 Straight it took me about 2 hours to straighten my hair...plus it doesnt even last long...now i use my chi and it only took me 30 mins to straighten.
i would recommen this product to everyone.
also i would recommen the silk infusion....for preventing burning hair. :D

I got my chi in july...so about 10 months ago. I got it because my friends use it and i know it works great on my hair. However, it quit working. It wont turn on and the reset button is broken. I'm not sure what the warranty is but i do plan on getting another one eventually. I still love chi's it just sucks that it broke!hey nothing lasts forever.
