Tips for Curling Iron on Long Hair

The medium-barrel curling irons are better on longer hair then other ones, because if use the larger curling irons the hair will fall a lot more quickly. Also, you should have a haircut on long layers, especially around the face before curling hair- if your hair is all in one length, your style will drop more easily too.

Onto the technique, wash and dry the hair by a towel, then pop in a heat protector. Blow dry the hair completely and smooth the surface with a large bristle brush. If you don’t have enough time to wash hair, mist with light-hold hairspray - this will give second-or-more-day hair more grip for the style.

Clip the top half of hair up and away, then take chunky sections, of around two inches, and wrap them around irons from tips to roots. If you want more body, hold iron horizontally; if not, hold it vertically, which can give a more ringlet-ish effect. After curled each section, pin it up with a bobby pin and then move on to the top half of hair.

Create your part line, then work exactly as you did down below. Pinned up the curls until them cool down for about fifteen minutes.

Release the clips and let curls tumble out, comb through the hair with your fingers, spritz on a light-hold hairspray. Then you have a beautifully full-bodied bounce.
