I purchased a straight iron in 2002 and 3 months later it wouldn't respond to electricity consistantly. Hair salon said send to co. with $35 and they may referbish it. something with the cord was messed up. thought that was to much trouble so i rigged the cord and it lasted about 3 years.
Now in 2006 they have pink out and that's my fav color so i purchased it; still kickin ass.
In 2007 bought the pink blow dryer. Had it less than a yr and the heating element went out; yep just blowin cold air. The rep replaced it for free but i got black. i hate black blowdryers. Now it's 2010 and less than a week ago blow dryin hair and no heat.
Called the chi co. Customer service rep was very polite but couldn't help me. So I just asked to talk to management. She got management and said they'd send new dryer if it didn't have counterfiet parts. Iron purchased in 2002 is also getting replaced.
I'm happy, hope parts are not counterfiet.
I've used many knock-off products from retailers and I truly belive in the chi products. I have 4 daughters and we use the products daily. They hate anything but chi. we currently have the pink iron, digital iron, and blowdryer got sent to co. today for replacement. The co. will work with you if you are polite and talk to management. Hope this story helps you. Oh I was told by reps that products are being built in USA now. They have been overseas gettin built. Hope the new usa built products last longer.

I bought a CHI Flat Iron about 2 weeks ago and have only used it a few times and it was working great! Until Yesterday when I started using it and the gold on the heat plate started rubbing off! Every time I do a strand of hair more comes off! I love the straightener but why is this happening after only 2 weeks? Who can I contact about this? Thanks
Krystal

I am just sick. My Chi hair dryer is less than 2 years old and it stopped blowing hot air. After browsing through the web, it is apparent that this is a huge product flaw. Unless the company fixes or replaces my dryer free of charge, I will let everyone know what a rip off this product is.

I've had my Chi Pro Hair dryer for less than 2 years and have only used it recently. Immediately, the on/off switch got hot, burned my finger and now only works on a low setting. I called Farouk Systems and was politely informed that I would have to pay $35 to get it repaired....if it was a defect in the dryer they would send me a new one, but would not refund the $35. I was shocked! This dryer cost over $100 and lasted less than 2 years. Other hair dryers I have purchased for a fraction of that have lasted 10 years for me. I'm calling the Better Business Bureau in Houston!

ANN WALKER - I am replying to your email.
I sent my CHI travel hair dryer w/$15 and they actually sent me a letter because they did not have my phone # telling me they wanted to send me a new hair dryer which then did in less than a week! I was pretty happy about that. My only fear is that this one too will stop working before I get any real use out of it. I doubt that I will purchase another after reading all the bad stuff on here. THEY COST MORE THAN THE AVERAGE APPLIANCE AND THEY SEEM TO BE JUNK/. I am trilled that they did good by me. Try again!

I too have a Chi turbo dryer that quit blowing warm/hot air, cold only. I don't even use it that much. What a joke...to pay that much for a hairdryer and have it quit working so quickly. No answer from Farouk Customer Service yet....big surprise, right?

I purchased a turbo chi blow dryer(low emf) for home-use, and it suddenly stopped blowing hot air!!!! Since i have natural curls i have not used it much(10-12 times), in fact it looks brand new; However because of a move, i no longer have the box and the receipt but the booklet and parts are still in a plastic. i'm very disappointed since my cheap dryers lasted over 20 years and this super pricy dryer stopped the hot air in over 6 months?!!! I do not recommend Chi product to any body. I would like to know what you can do at this point???...

I am reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau immediately. Based on the comments above and my personal experience of being on hold for over 2 hours with the customer service number listed and never getting a live person. I tried dialing the long distance number only to reach the same recording. Absolutely absurd that they will not honor their one year warranty on products purchased from Amazon!!! I will be reporting this to Amazon as well. Our Chi stopped working after 7 mos and they are far too expensive to have this lousy of customer service!!

I have a Chi flat iron model no GF-1001. I just stopped working yesterday. My engineer father-in-law took it apart. He discovered that the circuit board had gone bad. How do I order parts so that he can fix it?
