I bought a CHI dryer from ULTA beauty--heating element quit after only about 6 months.    I sent an email message to customer service and the person whe responded couldn't even write a comprehensible response. She offered no assistance whatsoever.    After reading how many heating elements have gone out, I don't know if I should spend another dime on this poor quality product.

by the way...~Why did you replaced Sarah Williams from Ogden, UT's CHI blow dryer...but would not repair or replace mine..because of the model I have. What model did she have? I think customers should be advised before they purchase the models you do not warranty or replace. would someone explain this???

Heating element went out on my Chi Pro Hairdryer...blowing sparks out before starting to blow only cold air. How deceived I have been..I thought the CHI name was a reputable one! hmmmm WRONG---- verified by all the other comments. Expensive AND they want back or repair their products...says MUCH about the manufacturers "integrity and character!!

Had problems with a Chi blow dryer and a turbo flat iron. I returned both with $35.00 each to service dept because they were both out of warranty. They were both replaced, no questions asked. Not many companies would do the same and I couldn't be happier. Any future purchase of hair tools will be Chi. Thanks for standing behind the products.

Heating element went out on my CHI Pro Hairdryer, as with numerous others listed here on your site. I've never heard of a manufacturer unable to help you repair your product or replace without a receipt if purchased under 12 months.    Based on the comments above, this a reoccurring problem with your products.    Going to Walmart to purchase a product that works and will last past a year!

I boughta Chi blowdryer about 3 months ago and it stop blowing hot air. Wow! didnt know chi was a ripe off. I rather go back to Paul Mitchell.

Bought my Chi Pink Pro Dryer at Penney's in Jan. 2011-
It blows only cold hair--
Penney's warranty is only 90 days.
So I'm guessing I will return with my $15.00 S&H to Chi.
They did not give me a return # over the phone--according to the comments, do I really need one?
Or should I call back and get on hold for another 10 minutes for a number??

DISAPPOINTED and saddened for my daughter!
The manufacturers cord is separating at the wire relief point, which I can say as a Engineer is pitiful. Same as another comment above!
Apparently the Christmas gift was extremely expensive and she can not afford to replace it.
She has only used it for herself singly and it's gone bad.
I'm really saddened for her, she did really like it a lot for some reason.
The quality is quite disappointing and seemingly without resolve.
How can a product cost well above the rest and not be backed up by a company better?
I will apparently fix it for her, it will still say CHI and the fix will make the CHI product reflect poorly via the patch job...

after about a year an a half, the plates on my flat iron are coming off and pulling the hair. Many cheaper brands have held up much better. Dont get how CHI can charge such a rediculous price for junk.

I got the Turbo Hair Dryer, Product Line: CHI : CHI Hair Dryers. The switch for high and low speed broke. I only have the low speed. I just called the customer service for this problem, she said they only do replacement for the product within one year. There is no repair program at all. She told me to Google on line to find someone do repair and send the blow dryer there. I told her that I am so disappointed that farouk systems (company manufacture this product)produce this tool but don't have a service program. You buy a blow dryer for around $150 after one year warranty, if it doesn't work for some reason, you will have to throw it away. I don't recommend this product to any friends or my clients any more

JUNK!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a nano ceramic ionic hair dryer...i paid 18o bucks for it..(my husband about crapped his pants). I'm not a hairdresser..bought for personal use. The speed setting switch broke first. I only had high speed..continued use until the "ceramic heater" quit heating...I believe their switches are garbage...I know I'll never buy another one!

the chi flat iron is turning out to be a piece of crap!! have bought several and they last just little over a year and then the on off button messes up and it stops working completely. WTH?? are they on a timer where they break as soon as the warranty runs out! sick of them. i wont never buy another one! they suck!!

I absolutely could not wait to use my chi dryer when i bought it about a year ago and tonight it just stopped blowing hot hair! As someone who travels often and always needs to be camera ready an issue such as this should never happen, especially since Chi is supposedly a "reputable brand". i would really like to speak to someone about replacing this product for one that is reliable.

I bought a chi flat iron & the place I bought it is no longer there. I went to turn the iron on the other day & the button fell off & went down the drain. I loved this iron, but if this is what happens, it is not on my list of high quality products. I have never had a curling iron or straight iron that a button has fallen off before & I have had some pretty cheap crap that lasted me for years (unfortunately). What can be done about this?

i am a cosmotologist and have been using the chi rocket dryer for about two and a half years. today the cord shorted out and it litteraly blew fire out of the back. i was letting a client use it at the time and the fire hurt her arm. i want a new dryer or compensation.
I dont care how long a warentee lasts. the break    down of a chi dryer should never blow up and injure people.
who can i    talk to about this?
this thing is a piece of crap.

What if my flat iron stopped working after a year? Can i still get it repaired?

Posted by Priscilla from Florida on Tue, Nov 2nd, 2010
I have a CHI Rocket blow dryer and I need the outlet replaced. It has began to fall apart, it seems as if it overheated and the plastic started breaking and now chunks are coming off and it won't let me use the reset button. I know the actual blower works and it's just the outlet that needs to be replaced. Please who can help me with this??

I have purchased several replacement blow dryers from Farouk.    When the heating element wears out on one of our three dryers, I call the customer care number on the Farouk website, obtain a return authorization number, then return the broken product with a check for $35.    I get a new dryer within a couple weeks.    $35 is the price if you don't have your receipt.    It's not a bad deal for the best blow dryer out there that I know of.

Mine's less than 2 years old and stopped blowing hot air too.    Just called the company and they said they can't help me.    Never buying Chi again and telling everyone i know.

Welcome to the world of CHI...LOL... We would be better off with a "black MArket" product. The biggest waste of time and money ever. I am on my 4th CHI only beacuse they keep having to replace it for the heating element blowing out before the warranty is up. Imagine this is only for my home use. Not reliable enough for the salon. Pity because the design and lightweight of this dryer is great. Don't waste your money.

I have a mini chi pro, used for about 4-6 months.    probably used only 20 times as I only use for travel.    It smokes and smells like a burn when I use it.    After looking inside there is no obstruction or foreign material, but the plastic blades do not turn.    Can I get a replacement?    I do not have the warranty or sales receipt, but it was purchased at a salon called Mark & Co. in Lake Forest CA.    They suggested that I contact you for replacement.    Thanks for your attention to this problem.    The owner sais she had a similar problem with her Chi mini.
