Warranty Information on CHI Hair Irons and Dryers

Farouk Systems, Inc. is a company owned and operated by a team of hairdressers that include over 2000 educators worldwide. Farouk Systems, the first in the industry to use ceramic ionic technology, wants you to be satisfied with your appliance (includes CHI flat iron, CHI curling iron, CHI hair dryer...) purchase and makes the following one (1) year limited warranty for your appliance purchased through a professional salon. This warranty does NOT cover appliances purchased through the unauthorized retailers.

LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY FOR REPAIR/REPLACEMENT

What does this warranty cover?
Any malfunction or defect caused by faulty materials or workmanship for any appliance that was purchased through a professional salon or other authorized distributor.

How long does the warranty last?
One (1) year from the date of purchase.

Limitations:

  • THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, GOOD AND WORKMANLIKE PERFORMANCE OF SERVICE, OR OTHERWISE, ON THIS PRODUCT ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY SET FORTH ABOVE WHICH IS ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.
  • FAROUK SYSTEMS, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES THAT ARISE OUT OF THE INSTALLATION, USE, OR OPERATION OF ITS APPLIANCES OR OUT OF THE BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY.
  • APPLIANCES PURCHASED THROUGH THE UNAUTHORIZED RETAILERS ARE NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY.
  • ANY ALTERATION OR REMOVAL OF THE SERIAL NUMBER OR OTHER IDENTIFYING MARKS ON THE APPLIANCES OR PACKAGING WILL VOID THIS WARRANTY.

What will Farouk System do?
Farouk Systems, Inc. will repair or replace appliance at no charge other than a $15 return shipping and handling fee. The replacement or repaired appliance is warranted for the remainder of the original one (1) year warranty period.

What does this warranty not cover?
This warranty does not cover any steel parts; plastic parts; flex cord; damages caused by negligence, misuse, tampering, alteration, failure to follow safety, operation or maintenance instructions; appliances purchased over the unauthorized retailers; or alteration or removal of the serial number or other identifying marks on the appliance or the packaging. Further, this warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

How to get your appliance repaired or replaced? Either:

  • Save your original receipt. Return the appliance with the original receipt to the authorized retailer from which it was purchased where the appliance may be exchanged at no charge, depending on the retailer's exchange policy (terms and conditions may vary depending on store's exchange policy); or
  • Save your original receipt. Contact Farouk Systems Customer Service at (800) 237-9175 to be issued a Return Authorization Number. Send your appliance, along with any completed warranty card that accompanied the appliance at time of purchase, the original receipt indicating the location and date of purchase, your Return Authorization Number posted on the outside of the package, and a check or money order made payable to Farouk Systems, Inc. for $15 shipping and handling, to the following address:

DO NOT send the appliance to Farouk Systems prior to contacting Farouk Customer Service and obtaining a Return Authorization Number, as any appliance returned without a Return Authorization Number may become lost and/or irreplaceable or irreparable.

Farouk System recommends tracking your shipment using UPS, Federal Express or Registered Mail. You are responsible for the shipping charges to send your appliance to Farouk Systems. Farouk Systems is not responsible for lost or stolen items or appliances that are lost during shipping to Farouk Systems.

How does state law apply?
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation of implied warranties may not apply to you.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

I bought my CHI hairdryer in January 2015. It ls already dead. It started sparking, a big fire hazard, and then just stopped. I have tried calling this company phone number and it was disconnected. This site appears to not be their site, but a referral site, or one that wants the business of fixing a product that is not being serviced under the warranty by the manufactured-FAROUK SYSTEMS, INC. My sense is they are going out of business because of inability to run their company or manufacture their products correctly. We’ve all been duped!

I returned to you my Chi iron I bought in July 2014 with my bills as proof I sent also $ 15 US as asked because my iron is broken, it does not even I am 1 year have used it ......... I have received no news of you, I know you took my money order March 26, 2015 ........... J 'I paid this iron Chi with my paypal, I know I can use with paypal, but I prefer to deal directly with you .... When I returned to you my iron I trusted you, I hope you will keep your words regarding the warranty of my iron, you have all received what you asked for it ............ I expect from you in very soon

My Chi Hair dryer just started throwing sparks and burned through the cord where it enters the dryer.    I have had it a long time and really like the machine.    I called asking if I could send it in to have it repaired.    Customer service seemed unenthused to assist me.    She took my information and told me it would be 35$ to return/replace because I didn't have a receipt.    I was fine with this and ready to ship. She then asked how I stored the dryer. I said I usually keep it under my sink with the cord wrapped around it.    That was it!! All bets are off. They will not fix or replace it because I used my dryer negligently.    Are you serious???    Since I said I wrapped the cord they will not deal with me.    If that is negligent I'm sure 95% of the country is negligent with their hair dryers.

I was told when I purchased the Chi blow dryer that it was a life time deal on their products because they were so expenive.    I love how the blow dryer dries my hair but after a year it has stopped heating.    
I have my reciept but i think it's been over a year.    I will have to look for it.    I called Penny's where i purchased it and they told me they did not take them back, i would have to contact the company.    I have blow dryers that have lasted for years, and still have them, but they don't dry like the Chi.    But i will refuse to spend money again for another one at that expensive price.

I spent $100 on a Chi blow dryer to have it stop working properly just after 13 months of use, which I can see from the other remarks, that's about how long they last,    I think they should last a lot longer than 13 months or be replaced FREE of charge if they do break,    Remington has great products, and they STAND Behind everyone one,    My flat iron stopped working after a year and I mailed it back to them, they sent me a new one no questions asked. just proof that I purchased it.    It was a $40 iron, and still working today, can't beat it, way better than the CHI flat iron I tried it went back to the store the next day.    The blow dryer, I will have to try a new company, not worth having issues after 13 months and no options to get replacement.     There are too many out there to have to settle for second best!!! Especially when it's not an inexpensive device, you expect more from it.    Won't buy any more of there products!!     I will try to bang it to see if that helps, but shouldn't have to do that!!!

I cant believe how terrible the customer service is. I have a $275 hair dryer that is now shorting out and when I called I was advised that Farouk no longer repairs their products and I was out of luck. The lady clearly was trying to get me off the phone. I then questioned why my warranty card said if over 1 year or no receipt mail in with a $35 payment and it will be replaced. She advised that is their old policy and that they would honor only if I sent in all the original documents including the owners instructions. She also had an attitude about it and refused to provide me with a Return Authorization Number. This is my 2nd Rocket and both have now had issues. The first I had for a couple of years before it burned my hair and I had to throw it away. I am disappointed not only in the quality of the product but more so with the customer service. I cant believe in this day and age that a company is not interested in keeping those few customers that remain loyal.

I have bought both a straightener and blower dryer and of course around the same time both decide to go out.    I have had the products for 13 months and now I am out of the money because I don't have proof of when I purchased.    Customer service can't stand behind their products for longer then a year without proof of purchase.    Duh I have the product in my hand that should be good enough.    I am sure they have a way of finding out when the product was made and track it.
