I have a mini chi pro, used for about 4-6 months. probably used only 20 times as I only use for travel. It smokes and smells like a burn when I use it. After looking inside there is no obstruction or foreign material, but the plastic blades do not turn. Can I get a replacement? I do not have the warranty or sales receipt, but it was purchased at a salon called Mark & Co. in Lake Forest CA. They suggested that I contact you for replacement. Thanks for your attention to this problem. The owner sais she had a similar problem with her Chi mini.

I see a lot of complaints about the cord. I just replaced the plug-in on my wife's Chi. It cost me $1.59 for a new plug in and took 3 minutes. The only tools required are a scissors and a screw driver.
Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. This company is making a fortune off everyone sending them back for a $1 repair, or worse yet buying another one.

I purchased a chi flat iron in 2008. The cord shorted out before my 1 yr warranty and the place of purchase swapped it out. I had my replacement for a little over a year and it quit working this morning. I still have my original box and receipt, but when I talked with Jerry @ Farouk he said they only warranty the product for 1 year and no longer do repairs. Thank goodness I had recently purchased a back up chi on ebay!

I just contacted the 800 # from a previous answer and was told that they no longer will do repairs for $35 when you do not have the receipt. Only 1 year warranty work now. I won't be purchasing another chi, cause as high as they are to purchase in the first place, there should be some kind of repair service.
