Why won't the lights stay on the mirror?

I have had this mirror about 1 year and the lighting will not stay on. They flicker sometimes when I hold down the switch. Ready to buy a new one but do not want the same kind if this is going to happen again. Can you let me know what I can do maybe to fix the one I have?
